City of Irving Seeks Artist for Heritage District Mural Project

The City of Irving has announced plans to increase public art as part of its economic and community development initiatives in the Irving Heritage District. A new mural is set to be installed at 188 N. O’Connor Road, near Rock Island Road.

Artists are invited to submit their bids for the project, with the deadline for consideration being August 2. The mural will cover multiple walls surrounding a bridge that serves as an entrance to the Irving Heritage District, spanning approximately 5,113 square feet.

In addition to other requirements, artists must include in their proposal:

Irving's Historic Heritage District

The Irving Heritage District includes the downtown corridor, The Irving Archives and Museum, South Irving Library, Irving Heritage House, Heritage Park and several other iconic landmarks and attractions.

The Irving Heritage District Mural Project is led by the Department of Housing and Redevelopment in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture.
