Nimitz High School is pioneering a mentorship program for newcomer immigrant students.
The program will support the students with their social connections in school while assisting them in developing the language skills and literacy development that is needed to be successful academically.
In a unified effort with leadership by student council members, student body volunteers, students and faculty in the CTE Education program, and the Nimitz High School ESL Specialist, the program got off to a great start on the first day of school.
