Daleon Ward rushed for 108 yards to help lead Skyline to victory over Irving in the District 9-6A opener for both teams.
Ward produced touchdowns of 33 yards and 36 yards in the first quarter to give Skyline (4-0, 1-0) the early lead. The running back only needed four carries to make his mark on the game.
LaDaryl Randolph caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Chase Lodree with 0:49 left in the first quarter to put Skyline up 21-0 over Irving (0-4, 0-1). Skyline never looked back.
Lodree finished with 145 yards passing and threw for two touchdowns.
