The American College of Emergency Physicians will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday for its new headquarters in Irving.

The headquarters will be at 4950 West Royal Lane, near Freeport Parkway and State Highway 114 and adjacent to the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott hotel, according to a release from the organization.

The groundbreaking will be at 2:30 p.m. with ACEP Executive Director Dean Wilkerson, ACEP President Michael Gerardi and Irving Mayor Beth Van Dyne on hand.

The new headquarters will have roughly 58,000 of space and will have offices for roughly 150 ACEP executives, staff and volunteers. It will have plentiful training, meeting and prefunction space, the organization said.

The American College of Emergency Physicians is the largest organization representing emergency physicians in the nation.

Dallas-based BOKA Powell was the architect and interior design firm on the project team. Swearingen Realty Group is the brokerage and will manage interiors on the project. The developer is Cawley Partners and RLG Consulting Engineers is handling civil and structural engineering on the project.

Purdy-McGuire Inc. is handling mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering and Bella Firma will do landscape design.

The company’s current headquarters is at 1125 Executive Circle in Irving.

ACEP has 53 chapters representing each state, as well as Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. The organization said that a Government Services Chapter represents emergency physicians who work for the military and other government agencies.
