The Irving ISD Athletic Department recognized Chris Garduno of Nimitz High School as the One Irving Scholar Athlete of the Month. A three-year varsity starter for football, Garduno also competed in wrestling. In addition, Garduno is currently ranked 10th in his senior class. He is a member of the National Honor Society, junior historians and Academic Decathlon. Garduno also volunteers with elementary school students.
The One Irving High School Athlete of the Month Award is presented by the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce's One Irving campaign and sponsored by Toyota of Irving and ESPN Dallas.
