NEC executives meet with city of Irving officials

Executives from NEC Corporation and its North American subsidiary, NEC Corporation of America, recently met with Irving City Manager Chris Hillman and Mayor Pro Tem Gerald Farris.

The meeting was to celebrate NEC America’s recent signing of a new 10-year office lease in Irving. Its new headquarters will be even closer to DFW Airport in the Royal Ridge V building at 3929 W. Carpenter Freeway.

NEC Corp. president Dr. Nobuhiro Endo and NEC America president Shin Takahashi also talked about NEC Amercia’s new Social Infrastructure Solutions Team and potential technology collaborations with Irving. One of those technologies is the company’s Smart City solutions, which includes new facial recognition technology and water pipe leak detection technology.

NEC America, with about 600 employees, joins a list of other Japanese companies calling North Texas home. 7-11 is relocating its headquarters from Dallas to Irving and Toyota North America is bringing its headquarters from California to Plano.
