Andrew Jones is one of the best basketball players in the state. The Irving MacArthur senior scores nearly 30 points per game and was recently named a McDonald's All-American. He will play at Texas next year and hopes to win a state championship in March.

And it's all been done before.

His big sister, Alexis Jones, won a state title, played in the McDonald's All-American game, and is one of the best players on one of the best college teams in the country — Baylor.

It's hard to make a name for yourself when your older sibling has accomplished so much, but Andrew Jones has done it.

"He's very past that now," said Jones' teammate, Xavious Booker, a MacArthur guard. "Everyone knows him as 'Andrew Jones' instead of 'Alexis' little brother.'"

"Seeing her achievements, I always wanted to achieve as much as her but in my own way," Andrew said. "And that really lit a little fire in the sibling rivalry."

With his sister as an example, Andrew has seen firsthand how to set and achieve big goals. And he's been predicting big things for himself for a long time.

"Andrew predicted everything that was going to happen to him," said his coach, Toby Martin. "He was a 5'-8" freshman. He told me, 'Coach, I'm going to be 6'-3".' I said, 'I don't know about that, Drew.'"

"Last year, he had gotten hurt," said his teammate Kennie Cooper. "And he predicted, 'Man, we're going to win these playoff games and we're going to go to State.' And I said, 'Are you sure?' And we won... and I was like, 'You were right!'"

"And he told me he was going to be a McDonald's All-American, and once again I was like, 'All right, Drew,'" Martin said. "And now he's a 6'-5"  McDonald's All-American."

So what's next for Andrew Jones? "Win a state championship with my team this year," he said confidently.

We'll find out soon whether he's right on that one.
