Cedar Hill Bank Robbery: Suspects Apprehended After Multi-City Pursuit

On Friday, February 23, 2024, at approximately 10:33 am, Cedar Hill Police Department officers responded swiftly to a report of a robbery at the Bank of America branch located at 156 W Belt Line.

According to reports, two masked individuals robbed a customer servicing an ATM and fled the scene in a black SUV. Duncanville Officers, upon locating the vehicle, initiated a pursuit, which was soon joined by Cedar Hill Officers conducting an unrelated investigation nearby.

Despite a brief evasion, the suspects abandoned their initial vehicle, proceeding to carjack another vehicle from a civilian in a Duncanville neighborhood near Highway 67 and Cockrell Hill Rd. Subsequently, they again attempted to flee from law enforcement in the stolen vehicle.

During the pursuit, the suspects' vehicle collided with an unmarked Duncanville Police vehicle before being involved in a second crash, rendering their vehicle inoperable. Two suspects attempted to escape on foot but were apprehended by Cedar Hill and Duncanville Officers near the crash site. A third suspect was later apprehended in the backyard of a nearby residence after attempting to flee on foot.

The estimated value of the stolen property from the initial robbery exceeds $300,000. There were no serious injuries reported. The Duncanville Officer involved in the initial crash escaped unharmed, while two suspects and one civilian were treated for minor injuries related to the collisions. Another civilian received treatment at the scene and was subsequently released.

Due to the ongoing investigation, the identities of the suspects are being withheld at this time. The Cedar Hill Police Department expressed gratitude to their partners at Southwest Regional Communications and the Duncanville Police Department for their collaboration in the apprehension of the suspects.

The investigation remains active, and anyone with information pertinent to the case is urged to contact Sgt. Podany at 972-291-5181x2110.
