On March 9, around midnight, emergency responders rushed to a major accident on westbound I30 near Lamar Street, involving multiple vehicles.
According to investigators, the incident unfolded when a driver, navigating in the right lane, suddenly encountered an exit-only lane. In an attempt to return to the highway, the driver veered sharply but collided with the attenuator separating the exit ramp from the main road.
The 36-year-old male driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His passenger, however, was transported to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The collision set off a chain reaction involving two other vehicles.
Dallas County Sheriff's Office confirmed that no charges are currently pending in connection with the incident.
