H-E-B Announces Plans to Build Store in Euless-Bedford Border, Set to Open in 2026

H-E-B has announced plans to build a new store in a property located in Euless and Bedford.

The popular grocery store chain, based in San Antonio, will be building at the northwest corner of Cheek-Sparger Road and Rio Grande Boulevard, near the Glade Parks development. The projected opening date for this 119,000 square feet grocery store is sometime in the second half of 2026.

Here's what we know so far about the upcoming H-E-B location:

  • The store will be of normal size and will face east towards HWY 121 to accommodate parking, with plans for a future H-E-B Fuel station and car wash.
  • Inside, customers can expect a True Texas BBQ and a dedicated drive-thru, alongside a pharmacy drive-thru and an expanded grocery pick-up area.
  • The property tax and sales tax generated by the store will be shared between the Cities of Bedford and Euless, as outlined in an agreement finalized several years ago after H-E-B purchased the property in 2015. This agreement also delineates responsibilities for matters such as platting, zoning, and law enforcement.

H-E-B officials have scheduled a meeting with Bedford and Euless officials to discuss further details and determine the next steps to advance this long-awaited project.
