DeSoto Man Found Guilty of Drug Charges, Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison

Johnathan Brown

The Dallas County District Attorney's Office says that 33-year-old Johnathan Brown of DeSoto was found guilty for drug dealing.  Brown was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The case was investigated by the DeSoto Police Department.  During the investigation, DeSoto Police surveilled Brown and witnessed many hand-to-hand transactions outside his apartment.  Suspecting drug dealing, investigators obtained a search warrant and executed it on Mary 20, 2023.

During the search, authorities discovered significant quantities of cocaine, heroin, alprazolam, fentanyl, psilocybin mushrooms, and marijuana, along with two handguns. Brown, who had prior convictions and served time in prison on three occasions, was subsequently arrested.

In court, prosecutors Michael Chang and Clint Stiffler presented their case, with DA Investigator Bonita Morgan providing key evidence. The jury deliberated and returned a verdict of guilty. The judge sentenced Mr. Brown to 25 years in state prison.
