In the early hours of June 23, 2024, Mansfield police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of FM 917 following reports of a major accident. The 911 call was made by the victim's mother, who explained that she was driving her 21-year-old daughter home because her daughter might have been too intoxicated to drive.
According to the mother's account, her daughter fell out of the vehicle while they were traveling on FM 917 and may have been struck by at least one vehicle in the traffic behind them. The mother did not immediately stop but turned around and returned to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim unconscious but breathing, with apparent major injuries. Mansfield officers and Fire/EMS personnel administered life-saving efforts, and the victim was transported via CareFlite to a trauma center in Fort Worth.
The Mansfield PD Accident Investigations unit is looking into the incident. No arrests were made at the scene.
As of 6:30 a.m., the victim was reported to be in stable condition and receiving ongoing care for her injuries.
