A tragic shooting in Arlington has resulted in the death of an 18-year-old man, identified as Jesus Galarza of Fort Worth. Arlington Police responded to reports of gunfire on Monday, June 24, 2024, at approximately 7:24 p.m. in the 400 block of Claire Court. Upon arrival, officers found Galarza and a 20-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Both victims were rushed to hospitals, where Galarza succumbed to his injuries on June 26, 2024.
Investigators believe Galarza and the 20-year-old had arranged to meet someone for high-risk drug activity when the suspect opened fire on their vehicle, striking both victims. The suspect fled the scene following the shooting. The case is currently under investigation, with detectives pursuing leads to identify and locate the shooter. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
