Arlington Police are investigating an accident resulting in the death of a 36-year-old woman identified as Lea Katina Ramirez. The incident occurred on Friday, July 5, 2024, at around 11:38 a.m. local time in the 2200 block of NW Green Oaks Blvd.
According to authorities, Ramirez was driving an SUV southbound in the inside lane when, for reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle veered sharply to the right, crossing all lanes before leaving the roadway. The SUV first struck a guide wire belonging to an electrical pole and then collided head-on with a nearby concrete structure.
Emergency services including the Arlington Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS responded swiftly to the scene following reports of the collision. Upon arrival, they pronounced Ramirez deceased. A 4-year-old passenger who was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident was transported to Cook’s Children’s Hospital for evaluation. Their condition is currently undisclosed.
The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation by authorities as they seek to determine the sequence of events leading up to the tragic incident on NW Green Oaks Blvd.
