On Wednesday, July 3rd, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Grand Prairie Police responded to a shooting incident in the 300 block of South Center Street. Officers found a male with gunshot wounds in a parking lot. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined that the victim, 36-year-old Jose Luis Rios, was involved in an altercation that escalated into gunfire. The suspect fled before police arrived.
Over the weekend, detectives named Jose Alberto Sanchez, 24, as a person of interest in the case. Anyone with information on Sanchez's whereabouts is urged to contact Grand Prairie Police at 972-237-8700.
