On July 9, 2024, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 4500 block of Silver Springs Circle in West Oak Cliff, near W. Illinois Ave. and S. Cockrell Hill Rd. The preliminary investigation determined that when officers arrived, they found 25-year-old Maikal Yoel Izaipe shot on the ground outside a home. Dallas Fire Rescue responded, and Izaipe was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation identified a suspect, 25-year-old Naudy Hernandez-Perez. The preliminary investigation determined that the two men got into a fight, and Hernandez-Perez shot Izaipe. An arrest warrant for murder has been issued for Hernandez-Perez, who remains at large.
The victim and suspect were known to one another. The investigation is ongoing and documented under case number 105502-2024.
