Irving Man Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison For Sexually Abusing Child

An Irving man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for sexual child abuse.  

On June 17, 2024, 49-year-old Perfecto Jesus Luna please Guilty to a charge of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child under the age of 14.  As part of the deal, Luna waived his right to appeal and pleaded guilty to a second case for Continuous Indecency with a Child.  At the time of the crimes, Luna resided at the 2100 block of Robinson St in South Irving.    

The abuse occurred in March of 2008 when Luna started sexually abusing the 8-year-old girl family member.  

The case was prosecuted by Joel Abraham and Michelle Shughart.  The case was investigated by the Irving Police Department and Child Protective Services (CPS).  

Irving Officers arrested Luna in March of 2023 after their investigation.  The DA investigator was Barry Maxwell with help from the Child Abuse Investigators.
