Suspect Apprehended at DART Transfer Station After Window-Breaking Incident

On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Cockrell Hill Police Department officers were dispatched to the DART Transfer Station at 4430 W. Jefferson Blvd in response to reports of a suspect breaking windows.

Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect fleeing from a Dallas Police officer who had been flagged down while passing by. A Cockrell Hill officer quickly caught up to the suspect. As Sergeant Mendoza attempted to detain the fleeing suspect, the individual swung at Sergeant Mendoza and continued to evade arrest.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of multiple agencies, including Dallas Police, DART Police, and the Dallas Marshal's Office, the suspect, identified as Christopher Love, was apprehended in the area of Ogden and W. Jefferson.

Christopher Love has been charged with Criminal Mischief (State Jail Felony). Additionally, he faces outstanding warrants for Evading Arrest and Detention (Misdemeanor A) and Assault on a Public Servant (Third Degree Felony).
