Coppell Animal Services Issues Warning About Alligator in Town

The Coppell Animal Services team has verified the presence of an alligator in town. The alligator has been spotted specifically in the northeastern part of Coppell near Denton Creek's small ponds and tributaries.

For your safety, please refrain from swimming, fishing, or entering the water in this area, and avoid feeding the alligator.

As alligators are a regulated species, City staff cannot remove or relocate the reptile without permission from Texas Parks and Wildlife. Coppell Animal Services is in communication with Texas Parks and Wildlife and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
