The Richardson Police Department has charged 43-year-old Ronald Martin, a resident of Richardson, TX, with the murder of a 32-year-old resident of Garland, TX.
On July 2, 2024, Richardson Police officers were dispatched to 1801 North Greenville Ave. to locate an individual who was reported missing to the Garland Police on June 30, 2024. Witnesses who knew the missing person indicated he was last seen at the location in an apartment rented by Ronald Martin. After checking the apartment and finding neither the missing person nor Martin, officers observed evidence of foul play.
In the following days, the investigation led to the discovery of the deceased body of the reported missing person and identified Ronald Martin as a suspect in the death. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Martin and determined he was no longer in Texas.
On July 8, 2024, Martin turned himself in to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Florida and will be extradited to the Dallas County Jail. The motive for the murder has not been determined at this time. The victim’s name is not being released as a courtesy to the deceased’s family.
