Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide in Lillian. Deputies responded to a shooting on Kramer Street and found an adult male with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a Mansfield hospital and pronounced dead.
A woman had called 9-1-1 reporting that her son had shot her husband. Detectives interviewed family members, witnesses, and the juvenile suspect. The preliminary investigation suggests the juvenile acted in defense of his mother from an ongoing assault.
The case is still under investigation.
Update: the deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Cammeron Eugene Autrey of Venus, Texas. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the back.
