The Vignette Art Fair 2024 will take place Oct. 17–19, 2024, at Dallas Market Hall, located at 2200 N Stemmons Fwy, Dallas, TX 75207. Curated by Dr. Vivian Li, the sixth annual event will spotlight 37 women artists from across Texas.
Dr. Li, Lupe Murchison Curator of Contemporary Art at the Dallas Museum of Art, selected the artists from over 200 submissions. The artists come from various cities, including Dallas, Denton, Irving, McKinney, Austin, Amarillo, Houston, San Antonio, and Nacogdoches.
The fair will showcase 86 pieces of art, encompassing various mediums and disciplines, including performance art.
Among the artists selected is Joy Reyes of Irving. Joy is self-taught and is known for her evocative mixed-media portrait paintings, has exhibited widely across Texas, including at Daisha Board Gallery, 400 Houston St Gallery, and the Latino and Oak Cliff cultural centers in Dallas.
Joy had her most recent solo show at Daisha Board Gallery in early 2023, where she is currently represented. In 2022, she won the Peoples Choice Award at the Fort Worth Biennial and showcased her work in the Three Women Show at the Fort Worth Community Art Center. As a Latina-Jewish multidisciplinary artist, Reyes uses her art to bridge cultural gaps, address social issues, and foster community connections, while also creating timeless furniture and unique glass vases.
