The Arlington Police Department has reported the death of a 3-year-old girl who was injured in a single-vehicle crash earlier this month.
On September 12, 2024, at approximately 11:26 a.m., officers responded to a crash involving a 2006 Toyota Avalon in the 300 block of N. Center Street. Investigators determined that the driver, a 35-year-old man, suffered a medical emergency, causing the SUV to veer off the roadway and collide with two metal bollards and a streetlight.
The driver, a 67-year-old woman, and the 3-year-old girl were all transported to local hospitals. On September 17, 2024, the child was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
The investigation is ongoing, including whether the girl was properly restrained in a child safety seat at the time of the crash. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the child’s name.
