Irving Selected as Location for New Mattito's Restaurant

Irving’s list of eateries is set to expand with the addition of the award-winning Mattito’s Tex-Mex Restaurant. Slated to open this April, the Irving Mattito’s will be located at 1001 MacArthur Park.

“Mattito’s has all of the ingredients for a successful future in Irving,” said City Manager Tommy Gonzalez. “Irving residents have expressed a great deal of support for new dining and retail options, and the 635-MacArthur area offers the new Mattito’s restaurant a highly visible location.”

To facilitate the grand-opening, the city’s Development Services and Inspections departments worked with representatives from Mattito’s restaurant to expedite the issuance of remodeling permits as well as advance the zoning cases that will allow for the construction of an outside dining patio along with extensive renovations of the building exterior. The Mattito’s zoning cases were heard earlier this week during the Feb. 6 Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting and the Feb. 9 City Council Meeting.

“As an Irving resident, I’m looking forward to the grand opening of Mattito’s,” said Councilman Gerald Farris, who is the chairman to the city’s Planning and Development Committee. “The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce and city staff are to be commended for their work to bring a restaurant of this caliber to our community.”

Mattito’s chose Irving as the site for its newest location because they are excited about the things that are happening in the city, added Gonzalez. Other Mattito’s Tex-Mex Restaurants are located in Uptown Dallas and Frisco.
