Québec Planning Trade Visit to Irving

The Greater Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce is reporting that government officials and several companies from Québec will pay Irving a visit, and they have a mission - business. The trade mission will consist of information technology, maintenance, lighting and other industry leaders looking to forge business relationships with the city and its companies.

"These interactions serve as 'match-making' opportunities," said Joe Chapa, Executive Director of Sister Cities and the International Trade and Assistance Center. "Trade missions benefit both the visitor and the host city because we see where we can find more products, better sales and a variety of supplies."

Local businesses and representatives from the City of Irving will meet with the group of Québec delegates to discuss distribution opportunities and the city’s accessibility and business climate. Irving officials also will be briefed on what Québec has to offer.

"This opportunity has allowed us to establish relationships for bigger, better alliances and trade potential with Canada," Chapa said. "We see a lot of potential for a bright future with this leader in technology and innovation." Chapa said the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber is involved in an average of five trade missions per year to help build relationships and boost business in the city.
