DFW Airport Expanding Premium Lounges by More Than 45% as New Terminal Projects Advance
DFW AIRPORT, Texas - Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is significantly expanding its premium lounge offerings, with more than 72,000 square feet of additional space planned as new lounges, expansions and terminal projects move forward.
DFW currently has more than 20 lounges and premium spaces totaling nearly 162,000 square feet. The airport expects that footprint to grow by more than 45% to more than 234,000 square feet once announced projects are completed.
Among the recent additions is the 18,000-square-foot Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club, which includes dining, wellness amenities and dedicated family spaces.
DFW also added two Plaza Premium facilities this spring, including Plaza Premium First, the company's first U.S. location under that premium lounge concept.
American Express, meanwhile, is expanding its Centurion Lounge at DFW by nearly 50%. The project will provide additional seating, a new dining area and a second full-service bar.
American Airlines, DFW's largest airline partner, is planning an even larger addition as part of the ongoing reconstruction of Terminal C.
The airline plans to open a 37,000-square-foot Admirals Club, which American says will be its largest Admirals Club anywhere in its network. American currently operates five Admirals Clubs at DFW along with its Flagship Lounge and Flagship First dining.
Additional premium facilities are planned for DFW's new Terminal F. American has announced that the terminal will include a Provisions by Admirals Club concept as the first phase of its lounge offerings there.
American is also adding a Flagship check-in experience in Terminal D. Eligible passengers will have a dedicated check-in area with personalized service and convenient access to security screening.
Another recent addition targets travelers looking for an experience largely outside DFW's conventional terminals. Private Suites, known as PS, has opened a private terminal at the airport with private and semi-private TSA and Customs processing, lounges and private suites.
The service includes transportation across the airfield between the private facility and passengers' commercial aircraft, allowing customers using the service to bypass much of the traditional terminal experience.
DFW's Skylink train system also allows passengers who have cleared security to travel between all five existing terminals. That means eligible travelers can visit lounges outside the terminal where their flight is departing, although individual lounge access requirements still apply.
The lounge expansion comes as DFW undertakes several major infrastructure projects, including the redevelopment of Terminal C and construction of Terminal F.
The airport is also expanding digital services for travelers, including live security checkpoint wait times, parking availability, interactive terminal maps and construction updates through dfwairport.com.
