Nimitz High Decathlon Team Coach Greg Jackson Receives Award

Nimitz High School Academic Decathlon Coach Greg Jackson received the 2013 Mirabeau B. Lamar Masonic Education Award.

The award recognizes students and educators for outstanding personal achievement in academics, citizenship, community service or sports.

Jackson recently led the Nimitz Academic Decathlon team to a top five finish at the state Academic Decathlon meet in El Paso. That is the 12th time in the past 14 years that Nimitz has placed among the top five teams at the Large School State Meet. 

Jackson’s teams have qualified to compete in the state meets for 23 out of the last 26 years.
