Sing to Read

The Irving Schools Foundation is proud to award Clifton, Kinkeade and Pierce Early Childhood Schools with a grant for $6,000 to help fund the Dr. Mike Transforming Learning program "Sing to Read." The program helps develop critical early literacy skills in a multisensory experience by utilizing familiar nursery rhymes and songs with updated Hip-Hop, Reggae and Latin Rhythms that motivate children to move and learn. Dr. Mike's professional development program has equipped the teachers with specific, brain-based movement and music strategies. More than 2,000 teachers, students and parents will benefit from this program this school year alone.
