The Irving ISD reports that Elise Long, an eighth-grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher at de Zavala Middle School, has won the National Association for Alternative Certification (NAAC) Outstanding Intern Award.
The NAAC recognizes exemplary teachers who are participating in or have recently completed a non-traditional teacher preparation program. Long will attend the NAAC national annual conference in New Orleans in March.
