All Irving ISD Schools Receive the State’s Highest Accountability Rating

Irving Independent School District earned 36 Distinction Designations awarded by the Texas Education Agency for student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR). In addition, Irving ISD’s rating for 2017 is Met Standard in the state’s accountability ratings released this month.

  • All five high schools Met Standard.
  • All eight middle schools Met Standard.
  • All 20 elementary schools Met Standard.
  • All three early childhood schools Met Standard.

For the first time since 2013, the year that ratings were first issued under the current system, all 33 rated Irving ISD schools met the Index 1 (student achievement) and Index 2 (student progress) targets. An additional measure under the state’s accountability rating is the four-year longitudinal graduation rate. Graduation rates in Irving ISD are at an all-time high with 93.7% for 2016-2017.

The 2016 and 2017 accountability rating comparisons for individual schools are shown below.  Also shown are Distinction Designations earned by each campus for 2016 and 2017.
