AEL Partners with CTE to Offer Auto Collision Certification

Irving ISD’s Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) department recently partnered with the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) department to offer an auto collision polyvance training at the Ratteree Career and Development Center. Students who participated learned how to repair damaged vehicles and, upon completion of the training, earned a Polyvance Plastic Repair certification. This accreditation qualifies students for jobs with businesses like Caliber Collision, Toyota, Ford and more.

The following AEL students were a part of the first cohort:

Edwin Chavez

Rodolfo De Leon

Dustin Kahn

Edgar Mora

Freddy Tobar

Irving ISD auto collision instructor Felix Cano along with two of his students, Alan Meza Gallegos and Evelyn Quintero, not only taught the polyvance training but also volunteered to tutor AEL students in the evenings.

If you or someone you know is interested in being a part of the next cohort, please contact AEL Manager Delia Watley at dwatley@irvingisd.net or 972.600.6130.
