Dispensary In Garland Busted For Illegal Activity; Lab Testing Alarming

On the morning of June 7, 2023, authorities from the Garland Narcotics Unit and the Dallas DEA Task Force executed multiple warrants pertaining to the illicit sale of narcotics at the Bee Hippy Hemp store situated on 701 Main Street.

One of the warrants was specifically issued for the arrest of Christopher Charles Fagan, a 41-year-old individual who is the owner of the store. Fagan faces charges of distributing marijuana weighing less than 5 pounds. Another warrant targeted the store manager, David Lee Dranguet, aged 55, who is accused of distributing less than 4 grams of marijuana and two additional counts of distributing marijuana weighing less than 5 pounds.

As the warrants were executed, law enforcement officers seized around 50 pounds of pre-packaged items, including edible products infused with THC.

The Garland Police Department received a detailed lab analysis of previously sold items at the dispensary.

The police department has learned that some of the products were sold to patrons with the misinformation that these items were “legal” hemp products (containing less than 0.3% THC).

"The test results were alarming, and we felt an immediate need to create this announcement for the safety of our community.", said Garland Police officials.

Test results from some of the products sold inside the location showed high levels of THC, with some products testing as high as 95.3% THC. The police department is concerned that patrons of bee Hippy Hemp Dispensary may unknowingly ingest or possess high or dangerous levels of THC. This is especially true for minor children and for those who are unprepared for the side effects of acute intoxication.

If you have purchased any ingestible product from bee Hippy Hemp Dispensary, officials recommend that you immediately and safely dispose of the product.

Members of the public are welcome to anonymously drop off the product in the secure “Prescription Drop Off” bin located at the Garland Police lobby at 1891 Forest Lane; NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
