Fatal Rollover Crash in Irving Leaves Driver Dead and Passenger in Serious Condition

UPDATE: The deceased driver was identify by the Dallas County Medical Examiner as 24-year-old Emanuel Torres-Ochoa.

In the early hours of August 19th, at approximately 12:40 am, Irving police responded to an accident on Interstate Highway 635. The incident resulted in the death of the driver and left a passenger in serious condition.

The single-vehicle accident occurred on the eastbound lanes of IH 635. For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle veered into the center median before flipping over multiple times, leading to the ejection of the driver.

The driver succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the passenger who was also in the vehicle was left in a serious condition. Medical personnel arrived to provide necessary medical attention.

Due to the severity of the crash and the imperative need to document evidence on both sides of the freeway, all eastbound and westbound lanes of IH 635 at SH 161 President George Bush Turnpike were temporarily closed on August 19th. This closure caused disruption to traffic as authorities worked to gather crucial information.

The investigation is ongoing, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
