Beware of Phone Scam Targeting Residents: Fake Calls from Irving Municipal Court

Residents in the City of Irving have reported receiving suspicious phone calls from individuals claiming to be representatives of the City of Irving Municipal Court. The callers demand immediate payment for an alleged outstanding warrant, creating concern among residents.

Authorities are warning the public that these calls are part of a scam, emphasizing that the legitimate City of Irving Municipal Court will never initiate contact via phone, text, or email demanding payment. Even more concerning, scammers have managed to mimic the court's authentic phone number, (972) 721-2451, adding an extra layer of deception.

It is crucial for residents to be aware that the Irving Municipal Court does not request or accept payments through unconventional methods such as gift cards, money transfers, or cryptocurrency. Any such requests should be treated with suspicion.

If residents receive a call from someone claiming to be from the Irving Municipal Court and are uncertain about its legitimacy, officials advise taking the following steps: ask for the caller's name, hang up, and independently verify the information by calling the authentic City of Irving Municipal Court number at (972) 721-2451.
