As part of the broader $15.2 million Embassy Channel Drainage initiative, the Rochelle Road bridge connecting Fairbrook and Stonebrook Streets is set to undergo demolition and closure in late January 2024. The project is expected to last approximately one year, contingent on weather conditions.

Public Meeting Scheduled for Jan. 16, 2024

A public meeting to disseminate information about various projects in the vicinity is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Lee Park Recreation Center, located at 3000 Pamela Drive. Residents are invited to gather insights into three key projects:

  1. Rochelle Road Bridge Replacement and Drainage Improvements
  2. MacArthur Road Construction
  3. Lee Park Pool Replacement (construction slated to commence next summer)

Rochelle Road Bridge Project Details

The Rochelle Road Bridge project encompasses several crucial components:

  • Widening and deepening of the channel
  • Installation of a 10’x7’ box culvert beneath Rochelle Road in the channel
  • Lowering of a 20-inch water line
  • Lowering of a 15-inch sewer line
  • Construction of a clear-span bridge

Detour Plan and Map

In light of the impending bridge demolition, Rochelle Road will be closed to thru traffic between N. Story Rd and N. MacArthur Blvd for the duration of the reconstruction. Motorists seeking an alternative route can utilize the east- and westbound Airport Freeway (SH 183) frontage road as a detour.
