On April 28, 2024, McKinney Police Department responded to reports of gunfire near N Jordan Road and Woodberry Lane. Upon arrival, officers found a 23-year-old white male in a car with a single gunshot wound. Despite efforts, the victim passed away.
The suspect, Donte Tyrone Murry Jr., a 24-year-old black male, initially fled and went to the house of an associate identified as 33-year-old Antwon Hamilton. Following an investigation, it was determined that Hamilton assisted Murry in the planning and commisison of this crime. Both suspects were apprehended with the help of the McKinney Police SWAT team and have been charged with Capital Murder.
