Man Sentenced to 60 Years for Shooting at Fort Worth Police During High-Speed Chase

Eliseo Suarez

Eliseo Suarez, 25, has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault against a public servant, according to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office. Suarez was sentenced to 60 years in prison by the court.

The incident dates back to August 30, 2022, when Suarez, identified as a documented gang member, was a passenger in a vehicle that was flagged as stolen. Fort Worth Police attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Jessica Jean Jarvis, accelerated instead of stopping. This led to a high-speed police pursuit.

During the chase, Suarez fired multiple shots from a shotgun out of the vehicle's windows at police units. The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle crashed into a landscaper's truck on Highway 377 and I-820 in North Fort Worth.

The Fort Worth Police Department conducted the investigation into the incident. Jarvis's case is currently pending.
