Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Major Drug Bust in Ferris

A routine traffic stop conducted by a Ferris Police Officer on Tuesday, April 30, resulted in a major discovery and arrest. Initially pulled over for a tinted windshield violation, the driver's vehicle aroused suspicion when officers detected the odor of marijuana.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a cache of controlled substances, including marijuana and cocaine. Among the items seized were a handgun equipped with an extended magazine, scale/paraphernalia, significant quantities of marijuana, and cocaine packaged for distribution.

The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed by the Ferris Police Department, faces multiple charges, including manufacture and delivery of controlled substances, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

This individual marks the first occupant of the newly established jail facility at the Ferris Department of Public Safety.

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing.
