Irving ISD Board Vice President A.D. Jenkins Earns Master Trustee Designation

Irving ISD Board Vice President A.D. Jenkins has earned the designation of Master Trustee upon completing Leadership TASB, a program sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).

The 2024 Leadership TASB class included 33 school board members from across Texas, representing districts of varying sizes and property wealth. Participants who completed all required elements of the program earned Master Trustee status, the highest designation recognized by TASB.

The Leadership TASB class met in conjunction with TASB’s Summer Leadership Institute, held June 19-22 in Fort Worth. Over 1,000 new and veteran school leaders attended the Institute, receiving extensive training on effective board governance, hearing keynote addresses from education experts, and gaining valuable insights from district showcases and networking opportunities.

During the program, Leadership TASB participants researched five critical issues in Texas public education. In the final session, members of the 2023-2024 class presented their team’s findings after yearlong research.

Following the graduation ceremony on June 22, Leadership TASB participants joined the ranks of over 1,000 school board members statewide who are Leadership TASB alumni.

TASB, a voluntary nonprofit association established in 1949, serves local Texas school boards. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state, representing districts that serve over 5.5 million public school students.
