Stolen Vehicle Suspect Barricades Himself in North Irving, Surrenders After Negotiations

In the afternoon of Monday, July 1, 2024, Irving Police Officers responded to a vehicle reported stolen near the intersection of W. Rochelle Rd and N. MacArthur Blvd in North Irving. The occupant of the vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Gonzalo Javier Fuenmayor of Irving, refused to comply with officers' verbal commands to exit, prompting a barricade situation. The Irving Police Department issued a cautionary alert advising residents to avoid the area during the incident.

After approximately 1 hour of negotiations, Fuenmayor surrendered peacefully. He was subsequently arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing, with the possibility of additional charges pending.
