Arlington Police Seek Public's Help in Locating Person of Interest in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Joel Sac Tambriz

The Arlington Police Department is requesting assistance from the public to locate a person of interest in a recent hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of 30-year-old Daniel Cruces.

Investigators are seeking to speak with 24-year-old Joel Sac Tambriz in connection with the incident. Mr. Sac Tambriz is known to have driven the black 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback that struck Mr. Cruces at the intersection of W. Pioneer Parkway and Center Street on June 9, 2024.

Officers had previously made a traffic stop on Mr. Sac Tambriz in January while he was driving the same vehicle. A still image from body-worn camera footage of the traffic stop has been released.

Police have also obtained two short video clips from a witness that show the Civic approaching the crash site moments before the collision. The vehicle was later found abandoned in the 700 block of E. Pioneer Parkway. Witnesses reported seeing the driver exit the vehicle and run southbound toward a nearby apartment complex.

Anyone who sees Mr. Sac Tambriz is urged to call 911 immediately. Individuals with information about his whereabouts should contact Officer Trowbridge at (817) 575-8602. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at (817) 469-8477.
