July 24, 2024: Irving Police Officers arrested 23-year-old Christopher Antonio Marenco. He is also being held on a $1 million bond.

Incident Details:

In the early hours of July 21, 2024, 22-year-old Christian Alexander Torres-Duran, originally from El Salvador, was found with multiple stab wounds on the side of the road in Irving. He was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

That morning, officers found Marenco, who had pulled over along Belt Line Road with his flashers on. Marenco told the officers that he stopped because he saw a body on the ground and thought the man had been hit by a car. While the incident was being investigated, Marenco left the scene.

Investigators obtained video footage showing Marenco stopping in the area where the body was found, then driving off. He returned to the same area, pulled something out of the bed of his truck, which looked like a body, and dumped it on the side of the road.

Detectives monitored Torres-Duran's phone, which pinged to a home on Cartwright Street in North Irving. Upon arriving at the location, they interviewed Donovan Lopez. They noticed injuries to his face. Lopez admitted to getting into a fight with Torres-Duran and stabbing him. According to Lopez, he did not know that Torres-Duran was dead and after the fight, he thought Marenco was taking Torres-Duran to the hospital.
