Another driver intervened but was stabbed by the suspect. A TXDOT employee who witnessed the incident stopped to assist, but the suspect entered the TXDOT vehicle, assaulted the employee, and crashed the vehicle.

A second driver who saw the incident also stopped to help. The suspect then entered that vehicle and assaulted that driver. Several good Samaritans restrained the suspect until police arrived.

The suspect was arrested, and charges are pending. His identity will not be released until formal charges are filed. Dallas Fire Rescue (DFR) transported the three victims: the stabbed driver is in critical condition, while the other two are stable. The suspect was also transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

The suspect, Angel Zamora Moreno, 26, faces seven counts of Aggravated Assault, two counts of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and one count of Criminal Mischief.
