Dallas Man Sentenced to 60 Years for Brutal Murder of Homeless Man

Jimmy Molina

On July 24, 2024, 37-year-old Jimmy Molina was sentenced to 60 years in prison after being found guilty of a gruesome murder. The case, prosecuted by Alex Dobiyanski with the assistance of DA Investigator JD Vance and Paralegal Pamela Betts, was investigated by the Dallas Police Department.

The crime took place while both Molina and the victim were living on the streets. According to court records, Molina engaged the victim in an altercation, striking him with a steel pipe and causing fatal injuries. He then dragged the body into a creek drainpipe and set it on fire. The remains were discovered days later downstream after the victim’s family reported him missing.

During the punishment phase, the court heard evidence of Molina’s violent past, including previous incidents of domestic violence involving punching, strangling, and sexual assault. In addition to the murder charge, Molina was also charged with being an illegal alien, as he was undocumented in the United States.

The case highlights the severity of the crime and the defendant's history of violence, leading to the lengthy prison sentence handed down by the court.
