On Sunday, August 25, 2024, at approximately 4:33 a.m., Killeen Police Officers responded to a shots fired call on the 2300 block of Andover Drive. While en route, dispatchers reported an accident in the 1000 block of Westover Drive.
Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious female victim inside a crashed vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Nicola James at 5:04 a.m., who has ordered an autopsy at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. There is no known threat to the community related to this incident.
Detectives from the Robbery-Homicide Unit are seeking any videos or security footage of the area and ask anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigation Department at (254) 501-8830.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 68-year-old Vivian Delois McClain.
