Dallas Police Seek Public's Help in Hit-and-Run Case Involving Skateboarder

Dallas Police are asking for the public’s assistance in a hit-and-run investigation that left a young skateboarder seriously injured. The incident occurred in the early hours of August 11, 2024, at approximately 2:20 a.m., in the 10200 block of Audelia Road, just south of Royal Lane.

According to the preliminary investigation, a young Latin male was skateboarding when he was struck by a motor vehicle. The victim sustained serious injuries from the collision. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and instead continued driving northbound on Audelia Road, past Royal Lane. The driver then made a U-turn and proceeded eastbound on Royal Lane towards LBJ Freeway/635. The suspect vehicle was seen pulling into a gas station, making another U-turn, and heading westbound on Royal Lane back toward Audelia Road.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a black Dodge Ram 1500. It is expected to have noticeable damage, including a missing front right light and assembly, damage to the front right fender, and damage to the grill.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that could help identify the driver or locate the suspect vehicle to come forward.
