On August 27, 2024, the Allen Police Department, with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Dallas Field Division and the Collin County Sheriff's Office, conducted a series of search and seizure operations across nine vape shops in Allen, Texas. The search warrants were issued following an extensive investigation into suspected illegal activities involving the sale of vaping products containing THC levels significantly above the legal limit.
The investigation revealed that products sold at these vape shops contained THC concentrations ranging from 7% to 78%. In Texas, any product containing THC must not exceed 0.3% to be legally compliant.
