Fort Worth Man Sentenced to 50 Years for Arson of Apartment and Vehicle

Riynaldo Gray

On August 12, 2024, a Tarrant County jury convicted 33-year-old Riynaldo Gray of Arson of Habitation and Arson of a Vehicle, sentencing him to 50 years in prison.

The charges stemmed from incidents on October 24, 2020, when Fort Worth fire investigators identified an intentionally set fire at the base of a woman's apartment door. Authorities later determined that Gray had paid another man to start the fire. Gray also hired individuals to visit the woman's home, deliver unwanted items, and set fire to her vehicle on November 25, 2020. Additionally, he used her identity to take out credit cards and damaged her property.

The Fort Worth Fire Department Arson and Bomb Squad conducted the investigation.
