The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred early today, August 30th, in the 4100 block of East Main Street.
At approximately 12:00 a.m., Grand Prairie 911 received multiple calls about a person sitting in the roadway who was subsequently struck by a passing motorist. The pedestrian, an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators suspect that the deceased was in mental distress and intentionally sat in the roadway. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
No arrests were made, and the collision remains under investigation.
