On August 31, 2024, at approximately 5:55 AM, Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 3200 block of the Dallas Fort Worth Turnpike (I-30). The preliminary investigation revealed that 23-year-old Jose Hernandez Marroquin was driving eastbound on I-30 when he was shot by an unknown suspect. Following the shooting, Marroquin's vehicle crashed into a pole. Dallas Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported Marroquin to a local hospital, where he later died.
Police are currently investigating the incident, considering the possibility of road rage or an intentional shooting. The investigation is ongoing and has been documented under case number 134064-204.
